About Me

I started studying English in the 2nd grade when, from paper cartons, we used to learn the animals by their printed image. The first word that I remember from English is “pig” and the pink image of a smiling swine with curly tail. The English studies continues until today. So, my language training stretches over a period of more than 15 years, English becoming in this way my second natural tongue. My career as a translator started in high school when I was translating unofficial, unpaid articles, different general and economical letters/briefings etc for the school newspaper and then for professors and finally for local city newspapers.

During my University courses I became proficient in English grammar by studying English phonetics, lexicology, syntax, idioms and literature, aesthetics, linguistics etc. During this period we’ve been trained in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting both in phonetic and linguistic fields. My translations continued “off-line” for professors, newspapers and different institutions (PATRIR (Peace Action Training, Research Institute of Romania, Green Peace, until the end of the first year of study when, After coming back from my first trip in US I started thinking about going freelance. I began researching and pretty soon I began working. Since then I’ve been constantly having projects, more or less important.

My translations/interpretings have been done for different institutes in different fields of activities. Many of them are not included. My portfolio includes translations and interpreting for: Green Peace, Cannon, Ricoh, PATRIR, Bentel Systems, MPR Research, Vivat, Applied Language, CPLI New York, New Travel Agency, Non Violent Peace force, Local Newspapers, University of Letters, University of Geography, Different High Schools Court Law Interpreting as well as volunteer work for NGO’s and non-juridical persons.

My experience includes also a long language training (besides the 14 schooling period) during the time spent in US (over 3 years) when I accumulated knowledge of different fields of activity/work (managing, advertisement, sales, watering, construction, driving, public relations, hotels, security etc)

Returning to Romania I established my long term freelance carrier along with my wife who freelances in Russian and Ukrainian. We are now getting started our own translation agency with the ATR (Romanian Translation Association) and governmental licensing.

I know you are looking for high-quality translators and I hope my qualifications rise to your standards. Whenever you need a precise and on time freelance translator/interpreter, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
